JCW HISTORY
Many members of Psychopathic are lifelong wrestling fans and once ICP gained enough success in the music industry, they set their sites on the wrestling world. The very first attempt was a show called StrangleMania Live! in Detroit. It went off without a hitch, and about a year later, they did it again, with a company called Hellfire Wrestling, created by ICP and their partner Dan Curtis.
The Hellfire show was a success and with the urging of Dan Curtis, a national tour was being planned for the months after. However, 2 days after the Hellfire show, Curtis, who was a close friend to both J and Shaggy, passed away from complications to diabetes. Without their right hand man and good friend, they decided to drop Hellfire Wrestling and dump the wrestling business for a little while.
That only lasted for a brief while before they got the urge back again and in December of 1999, the very first JCW show took place in Michigan.
It was filmed and later released on video. JCW was such a success that Psychopathic again planned their first ever wrestling tour and this time, it worked. ICP travelled with the JCW crew and wrestled night after night for many weeks on the road. It was grueling though and many of the wrestlers suffered injuries, however, none were as serious as the one Shaggy suffered.
ICP was wrestling in a cage match and Shaggy some how another fell off the top of the cage right onto his face-piece. It fucked up all sorts of bones and tendons in his neck and fucked his face up ROYALLY. He had to go have Brutus the Barber Beefcake style reconstructive surgery shit done.
The tour ended shortly after that and JCW has been pretty silent on the live show front ever since. However, they have released 3 DVDs, which you can find out more about in the Videos section and JCW always returns live for the Gathering.
